BAVARIA

Anna Maria's small pox certificate provided the clue that the Baierls lived in Moosbach district in 1838.  With that information and the help of Genealogiebüro Dr. Pöhlmann,  the Baierl family ancestors have been found in what is now the district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab in Bavaria, Germany.

The district is located in the mountains of the Upper Palatine Forest (Oberpfälzer Wald). The two headstreams of the River Naab, the Waldnaab and Haidenaab, both run through the district to merge in the south of the area.

Catholic Parish Registers for this area are found in the Bischöfliches Zentralarchiv on Microfilm and are not currently available online.
