Grötsch

The Dictionary of American Family Names gives the origins of the name  Grötsch  as Slavic from the Sorbian Grod (castle or fortified town).  Our family appears to have resided in Roßtränk which is near the Czech border from at least the mid 1600s to the time of Kunigund's birth.
